Weltenburger Hefe-Weissbier Hell

The Weltenburger monastary is founded around year 617 on the southern banks of the Danube river in Bayern, Germany. The brewery was built in 1050 which makes it the 2nd oldest brewery in the world. This day today there is 14 monks living at the Weltenburger monastary.

I bought this beer in a local supermarket in Porto, Portugal at 1,25 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,4%.

There is a lot of sediment in the bottle.

A big head the quickly disappears into a thin fine layer.

A yellow hazy look with a hint of orange glow.

The aroma comes off as a weak fruit.

The taste is a nice bubbly fresh fruit and the fruit continues for a long and pleasent after taste.

Overall rating 86 / 100
