The bottle came with a lead shield around the neck with vintage 1970 stamped in, underneath the vax seal there was an additional lead encapsulation around the neck.

Clear  red and brown colour.

Suitable aroma that comes off with a fine and spiced scent with sweet dried fruits.

Full bodied with mild tannin, long after taste with everything there is to wish for in complexity with dried fruits.

Colour remains unchanged.

Oak is now present in the aroma.

After taste lasts longer.

Generally a mature, sweet and good port that should be enjoyed now.

Subtle aroma, but the little dried fruit there is, is good.

Strong aroma with a good fruit to it.

Medium body with a fine, harmonic and mature taste.

A good wine that is ready to drink now but could properly get even better with time.
