Franziskaner – Dunkel Weissbier

The Franziskaner brewery can be dated back to 1363 where it is described in texts as the brewery town at monastery near Munich, Germany. In 1841 a huge and completely  new brewery was build in Lilienberg, a town outside Munich. In 1922 the Spaten brewery fusioned with the Fraziskaner brewery and they became Spaten-Franziskaner-Leistbräu AG. In 2005 the brewery was bought by the large InBev cooperation.

I bought this unfiltered weissbeer from a German webshop at the price of 1,49 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,0%.

Brown and unfiltered in the look.

Medium head with a fine top, quickly disappears.

Lovely sweet fruit aroma.

Good CO2, light sweetness and good fruit.

Overall rating 82 / 100
