Störtebeker brewery was founded in 1862 in Stralsund, Germany. The first big expansion of the brewery was in 1899 where the building now had brewing going on on multiply stocks.
I first tried this beer back in 2013, where alcohol level was 5.2%. Otherwise I can not tell if there was much difference. Back then it was an exported to Sweden beer, this time I bought it on the island of Rügen, Germany, where Stralsund is the port city entrance to the island. I bought this beer in a local supermarket in Bergen Auf Rügen, Germany at the price of 1.09 Euro for a 500 ml glass bottle at 5.3% alcohol.
Beautiful orange heavy hazy color. Lots of fine sediment in the bottom of the bottle, to swirl out.
Medium sized head with a very fine foam on top.
Aroma comes off with a good wheat and fruit mixture. Spiced and sweet notes.
Good CO2 content, delicious fruit with a balanced sweetness to it. Nice and light in the after taste.
