Tucher – Helles Hefe Weissen

Tucher brewery is located in Nürnberg, Germany. The brewery produced beer for the hospitals since 1643, but the official founding date for the brewery is 1672. In 1806 the brewery became a royal Bayern brewery as the King bought it. It was sold off to in 1855 to the Dr.-Lorenz-Tucher-Stiftung. It was renamed to Tucher in 1985 and is today since 2004 owned by the Oetker group.

I did a earlier review of this beer in a 330 ml bottle.

I bought this beer at a Bayern web shop at the price of 2,5 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,2%.

The colour is yellow with a light unfiltered look.

The very large and wild head, super fine bubbles on the top.

A light fruit and flowery aroma.

Light in the taste, lovely fresh fruit but with a low CO2.

Gutmann Dunkles Hefeweizen

The brewery was founded in 1707 when Fürstbischof Marquard II build a brewery in his castle in Titting, Bayern, Germany.

The brewery closed down in 1759 and was reopened in 1786 by Fürstbischof Johann Anton III. The brewery became part of Bayern in 1808 and in 1821 it was sold and was now privately owned. The brewery have been in the hands of the Gutmann family since 1855.

I bought this beer at a Bayern web shop at the price of 2,5 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,2%.

A dark brown unfiltered colour fills the glass from this beer.

A gigantic head of fine bubbles with even finer bubbles on top.

A weak and watery fruit aroma, really thin.

Low CO2, some fruit taste with darkness and caramel about it but the taste composition is boring.

Kapuziner Kellerweizen

Kulmbacher brewery was founded in 1846 in Kulmbach, Germany. The brewery was newly rebuilt in 1878 to 1892. The first Kapuziner weissbier was brewed in 1987.

I bought this beer at a Bayern web shop at the price of 2,5 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,1%.

The colour is a orange amber like unfiltered beer.

The head is very fine, medium in size and goes away fast.

A good fruit aroma.

Very low CO2, light fruit in taste but with a good finish and after taste. It is too dull and light in the taste.

Hernnbräu Hefe Weissbier Hell

In 1882 was the Bürgerliches Brauhaus Ingolstadt founded in Ingolstadt, Germany and it went in fusion with a group of other breweries in 1899. The market name for its beers was renamed to Herrnbrau in the 1960s.

I bought this beer at a Bayern web shop at the price of 2,5 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,4%.

The colour is yellow going to orange and it is a unfiltered beer.

The head is rough, not very tall and breaks into nothing.

A lovely medium fruit aroma, I only wish it would shine more through.

Good bubbly sensation from a balanced CO2 with a delicious fruit taste.

A deep unfiltered beer with a lot of sediment making for a very dense look of orange and yellow.

A great big head of fine white bubbles, disappears into a layer that still covers the top.

A heavy and sweet fruit aroma with some banana to it, very good.

Medium CO2, a somewhat sweet fruit taste but no complex composition, it could use some more diversion in the taste to score higher.

Keiler Weissbier

Keiler brewery was founded in 1836 in Lohr am Main, Bayern, Germany. It was a privately owned company up until 2001 where it was bought by Würzburger Hofbräu. In 2012 the brewery was closed and all beer is now brewed at Würzburger. The old brewery buildings was rebuild to a restaurant and beer tasting bar.

The colour is yellow going to orange, it has a really thick feel to this unfiltered beer.

A medium sized white head of fine bubbles that disappears completely.

A weak fruit in the aroma with a freshness about it.

Medium CO2 with an okay fruit taste and after taste.

Pyraser Angerwirts Weizen

In 1649, right after the 30 year war in Europe, Hanns Bernreuther leaves Austria as a Protestant fugitive and settles down in Bayern where he starts a brewery. His son, 1674, and grandson, 1749, acquires a farm in Pyras with house called Angerwirts, names that still live on to this day and from where the wheat is supplied. The brewery have remained on family hands and is from 2010 managed by Marlies Bernreuther.

The colour is yellow going to orange and it is a unfiltered beer.

The head is very fine, white tiny bubbles, it disperses into a thin layer that stays.

A lovely aroma with a delicious sweet fruit to it.

Bubbly sensation from a balanced CO2, a good fruit taste with a long after taste. A very good good and balanced composition in the taste.

The colour is a bright and light yellow filtered beer.

The head is rather small and settles quickly into a very thin layer.

The aroma comes off with a mild but good fruit.

Heavy CO2 with a lack of fruit to the taste, some what bitter and this is supposedly Champagneweissen. Not a beer type that completely suits me.

König Ludwig Weissbier Dunkel

The House of Wittelsbach began the first brewery in 1260. 32 years later, Herzog Rudolf built the castle Kaltenberg, which houses a part of the brewery’s facilities today. The brewery as it exists today was opened in 1870. Prince Luitpold of the House of Wittelsbach, is the great-grandson of the last King of Bavaria, Ludwig III.

I bought this 500ml bottle beer at Vinens Verden, Odense, Denmark. A dark weissbier with a strength of 5,5% for 3,3 Euro.

A brown unfiltered look with a slight dark orange to the bottom.

The thick head of fine bubles, slightly coulered by the dark beer, dissolves into a thin layer.

A good sweet fruit aroma, inviting.

Good CO2 that gives this beer some life compared to other dark beers, some bite to it. A delicious fruit in the after taste and some caramel tones as expected from the dark beer.

Munkebo mikrobryg – Folkvang Bayersk Weissbier

Munkebo mikrobryg is a micro brewery with a capacity of 13.5 hectolitre. Located in Munkebo, Denmark and was founded in 2013.

I bought this weissbier in Vinens Verden in Odense, Denmark at the price of 6 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,0%.

Beautiful yellow to orange colour to the unfiltered beer.

The head is medium sized, thick fine foam and it fades down to a thin layer that stays while drinking.

A sweet fruit aroma with some banana to it, very inviting.

Active CO2 that gives a good start with its bubbly sensation, the fruit is absolutely stunning, such a balanced taste that is at best described as delicious. After taste is a pleasant fading of the fruit.

A expensive beer from a small brewery, but well worth it!
