The Trappist monks brewed their first ale in 1884 in the village of Berkel-Enschot, Netherlands. After world war 1 in 1920 a bigger brewery was built to keep up with demand. The name La Trappe was introduced in 1980 and a new brew house was installed in 1989.
I bought this beer in a local wine shop in Odense, Denmark at the price of 3 Euro for a 330 ml bottle at 5,5%.
The unfiltered beer have a light yellow colour.
The head is big and white, leaves a thin layer.
The aroma is sweet with a hint of banana.
The taste is a light fruit with a little bitterness and a fast after taste. CO2 is good.
