Schwaben Bräu – Das Weizen Hefe Hell

Schwaben brewery was founded in 1903 by David Sanwald in Stuttgart, Germany. In 1996 it was brought together with the Dinkelacker brewery. In 2007, Wolfgang Dinkelacker, buys back the brewery from the big corporation Inbev. The privately owned brewery, dinkelacker-Schwaben braü, is today still located in Stuttgart and have around 300 employees.

I bought this unfiltered weissbier in a wine shop in Odense, Denmark. At the price of 5 Euro for a 500ml bottle at 5%

Beautiful orange glowing colour.

Large white head, fine bubbles on the top, disperses into a thin layer.

Faint fruit in the aroma.

Strong CO2, the fruit taste is on the light side while it is overwhelmed by the sweet taste.

Nørrebro Bryghus – Ivory Blonde

Nørrebro Bryghus is a Danish micro brewery founded in 2000 by Anders Kissmeyer and is located in Copenhagen, Denmark. The brewery also functions as a restaurant.

I bought this beer in Kvickly, a supermarket found all over Denmark. At the price of 2,5 Euro for a 400ml bottle at 5%.

Good looking yellow and orange colours.

Deheading in an instant, decapitation of foam.

Aroma have some good notes split fifty fifty between fruit and flower.

Low CO2, some good but faint fruit, the grape comes through in the end. Beer in a dentity crisis.

Bryggeriet Skovlyst – Lemonhvede

The brewery Skovlyst was founded in 2004 and is located in Hareskoven,Værløse, Denmark. Since 2007 the large batches of beer is brewed on license in Poland. Only limited edition, draft beer and beer for the restaurant is still made at the brewery in Denmark.

I was given this beer as a gift, it can be bought in supermarkets in Denmark. It is a 330ml bottle at 2,7%.

Yellow colour and unfiltered. Large amount of sediment.

No head at all, not even a thin layer.

A artificial aroma of lemon and some ginger in there too.

Low CO2, tastes like lemonade and the ginger keeps going in the after taste.
Beer in a dentity crisis.

Indslev Bryggeri – Bamberg Hvede Rauchweizen

Indslev brewery was established in 1897 by Frederik Christian Rasmussen. At some point the brewery was closed down, but in 2005 restored to former glory with brand new production equipment. The re-opening was made possible by Anders Busse Rasmussen, grand grand nephew of Frederik Christian Rasmussen.

I bought this beer in a local super market in Odense, Denmark at the price of 4 Euro for a 500ml bottle at 4,9%.

Brown unfiltered beer with a orange bottom.

Medium head with a fine bubbles, disappears into a thin layer.

A aroma that is fruity with hops and a hint of dark caramel over it.

Low CO2, a weak smoke, a okay fruit but not very strong in taste of either the fruit or smoke, neither in the after taste.

De Jyske Bryghuse – White hawk

De Jyske Bryghuse is a brand owned by United Beverages and is currently brewed by Svaneke Brewery on Bornholm, Denmark. Originally the brand was brewed by a selection of smaller breweries in Jutland, Denmark.

I bought this beer in Kvickly, a supermarket chain in Denmark at the price of maybe 2 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 4,6%. I do not recall exactly on the price.

A yellow coloured unfiltered beer.

A medium head with fine bubbles.

Fresh and clear fruit, flowers and spices in the aroma.

Low CO2, ultra flowered taste and quite some bitterness. There is a long drawn flowery after taste that lasts.

Kapuziner Weissbier

Kulmbacher brewery was founded in 1846 in Kulmbach, Germany. The brewery was newly rebuilt in 1878 to 1892. The first Kapuziner weissbier was brewed in 1987.

I bought this beer at a Bayern web shop at the price of 2,5 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,4%.

Thick and hazy look on this orange unfiltered beer.

The head is small with fine bubbles that disperses into a thin layer quite fast.

A good sweet fruit, fresh and balanced aroma.

Good CO2 with a delicious fruit. A little hops, alcohol and wheat in the after taste along with the fruit.

Dark red, rosa and brown in the colour.

A low head that disappears into a thin layer.

Sour berries aroma with a hint of hops.

Dead CO2, the taste of forest berries is nauseating and lasts for what seems way too long and the hint of beer in the taste does nothing good for the combination.

Erdinger Alkoholfrei

This wheat beer comes from the Erdinger brewery located at Erding in Bayern.

Erdinger have been making beer here since 1886, the brewery was established and later in 1930 it is bought by a malt factory, F.W. Otto. In 1935, the managing director Franz Brombach is offered to buy the brewery. Since then the brewery became very popular and it a widely exported weissbier. The brewery is still owned by the Brombach family today.

I bought this beer at a Bayern web shop at the price of 2,5 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 0%.

The colour is a light yellow.

A big head that is rough with fine foam on the top.

A weak fruit aroma with a hint of bitterness.

Good CO2, watery and thin in the very weak fruit taste, feels like a wheat smoothie.

To Øl – Cloud 9 wit

To øl is not a real brewery but two guys that are nomad brewers, Tobias Emil Jensen and Tore Gynther started their first commercial brews in 2010. Edit: since 2019, To Øl have their own brewery!

I bought this beer in the wine store H.J.Hansen in Odense, Denmark at the price of 5 Euro for a 330ml bottle at 4,6%.

A lightly coloured yellow and just some sediment in this unfiltered beer.

Large sized head, fine bubbles on the top and rough in the bottom.

A sweet fruit with a mango, some hop and flowers to the aroma.

Good CO2, very bitter, oranges and mango fruits in the after taste. Bitter as in goose bump bitter. Over the top for what I find pleasant but it has some good fruit tones.

Svaneke brewery is located in Svaneke on the island Bornholm in Denmark. The micro brewery was founded in 2000.

I bought this beer in the supermarket Kvickly in Denmark at the price of 2½ Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 4,8%.

A good looking yellow and slightly orange unfiltered beer.

Medium sized head, mostly rough in the structure and disappears fast.

Hoppy, flowery and spicy in the aroma, good, not too bitter.

Great CO2, bitter flowers, there is no sweetness in the taste. Only more flowered hop is to be expected.
