Kloster Scheyern – Weisse Hell

Since 1119 the Benedictine monks brew beer in Scheyern. The monastery brewery is proven to be Germany’s third oldest brewery. But it has not been used for many decades but was reopened completely renewed in 2006.

I bought this beer in a small wine shop in Rieti, Italy at the price of 4,5 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,2%.

Shinning yellow with a good haziness.

A big head with a super fine top and a layer that stays on it.

A lovely and sweet fruit aroma.

Delicious taste and good CO2 that balances well. Good fruit with lasts well into a suitable length after taste.

Little Valley Brewery – Hebden’s Wheat

Little Valley Brewery is a family-run business founded in 2005. All the beers are brewed, bottled and branded high on the Pennine moorland of Cragg Vale, just outside Hebden Bridge. It was founded by master brewer Wim van der Spek and co-owner Sue Cooper. All their products are 100% organic / biodynamic.

I bought this beer at the Salling store in Aarhus, Denmark at the price of 4 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 4,5%.

Orange going to yellow in the colour, real hazy.

A large and rough head that quickly retracts to almost nothing.

A medium strength aroma that comes off with a fresh, sweet and hoppy fruit.

A lot of CO2 is released and it is a very active beer. Sweet wheat and very bitter hops. Not so spiced as a wit but more with a taste along the lines of citrus. Biodynamic beer.

Grauballe Bryghus is a micro brewery established on a old former farm premise just outside of Grauballe, Silkeborg, Denmark. The brewery was founded in 2002 by William Frank and his wife.

I bought this beer at the Salling store in Aarhus, Denmark at the price of 5,5 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 4,7%.

Beautiful yellow and orange beer good hazy unfiltered look.

Large rough head that disperses into a thin fine layer that stays.

Sweet fruit and hoppy freshness with a little flower in the aroma.

Powerful CO2, light hops, wheaty and sweet fruit, however a little thin in the taste.

Bøllingsø Bryghus – Hedehvede

Bøllingsø Bryghus was founded 11th June 2009 by Jørn Andersen, Steen Madsen, Lars Mogensen og Tom Pedersen. It is run as locally funded brewery through shares sold to people living in Engesvang, Denmark and about.

I bought this beer at the Salling store in Aarhus, Denmark at the price of 5,5 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,0%.

Light yellow and hazy unfiltered look to this beer.

A head that disappears just as fast as you can pour the beer into the glass.

Fresh flowers and a sweet fruit in the aroma.

Good CO2, delicious sweet fruit taste and very sweet in the after taste, a little peak of hops.

Syndikatet – Strandløven Velskabt Wit

Syndikatet (Bryg-Syndikatet) was founded in 2011 and is a contract brewer that has all of its beer made in Denmark, primarly at Nibe brewery. Syndikatet was founded by Jonas Jacobsen.

I bought this beer at the Salling store in Aarhus, Denmark at the price of 7 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,0%.

Yellow beer with a white bottom, large chunks of sediment.

Small head.

A fresh and flowery aroma with some hops to it.

Low CO2, spiced and some citrus and hops. Bitterness shines through.

The Maisel brewery was founded in 1887 by Hans und Eberhardt Maisel as a family business. The brewery is located in Bayreuth, Oberfranken, near Nürnberg in Germany. Today it is the fourth generation of the family, Jeff Maisel that runs the brewery.

A deep brown colour.

Small head that disappears in a hurry.

Sweet fruit aroma, but a little too thin, watery and light.

Powerful CO2, sweet fruit, darkness and generally delicious composition, continues with the same flavors in the after taste.

A beautiful and deep orange colour.

A gigantic head of fine bubbles with even finer bubbles on top.

A light fruit in the aroma.

Good sweet fruit taste and the wheat just keeps going in the after taste.

I bought this beer at the Salling store in Aarhus, Denmark at the price of 6,7 Euro for a 330 ml bottle at 4,5%.

Light yellow and almost white in the colour.

Medium sized head with a rough top.

Citrus and hoppy aroma with a powerful mango to it, pleasant though.

Good CO2, sourish fruit, a dry fruit and flowers in the after taste.

The brewery Skagen Bryghus was founded in 2005 in Skagen, Denmark. It is located in the building formerly used for the electricity generation for the city.

This colour of this unfiltered beer is a thick and hazy yellow.

Medium sized head with a fine top, it disperses into a thin layer.

Fresh, sweet and sourish aroma with a medium strength.

Low CO2, sweet fruit that just keeps going, fresh and heavy wheat in the taste.

The weissbier brewery Plank Wiefelsdorf was founded on the first sunday in October 1888 by Michael Plank.

I bought this unfiltered weissbeer from a German webshop at the price of 1,49 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 2,8%.

Good looking orange colour with a little depth.

Big head with a rough structure but with a fine top.

Almost non-existent aroma, a slight fruit can be sensed.

Powerful CO2, light fruit, light wheat in the taste. Too thin in it overall.
