Bischofshof Hefe-Weissbier Hell

GS6A1855

Bischofshof brewery is located in Regensburg, Germany and have been breweing weissbier since 1649.

I bought this beer in a local supermarket in Porto, Portugal at the price of 1,25 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,1%

A full yellow hazy colour of this unfiltered beer.

A large head the leaves a thin and fine layer.

A good aroma of fruit that is neither dominating or too weak.

Low CO2 and a light fruit taste makes it with a suitable after taste.

Weltenburger Hefe-Weissbier Hell

GS6A1856

The Weltenburger monastary is founded around year 617 on the southern banks of the Danube river in Bayern, Germany. The brewery was built in 1050 which makes it the 2nd oldest brewery in the world. This day today there is 14 monks living at the Weltenburger monastary.

I bought this beer in a local supermarket in Porto, Portugal at 1,25 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 5,4%.

There is a lot of sediment in the bottle.

A big head the quickly disappears into a thin fine layer.

A yellow hazy look with a hint of orange glow.

The aroma comes off as a weak fruit.

The taste is a nice bubbly fresh fruit and the fruit continues for a long and pleasent after taste.

GS6A1822

To learn more about Ramos Pinto, read my article from visiting the wine producer: http://www.disorder.dk/2013/09/11/visiting-ramos-pinto-in-porto/

I tasted this 30 years old tawny at Ramos Pinto in Porto, Portugal.

The colour is brown with a few red notes, much darker than the RP20 and not lighter in colour as expected.

The aroma is a lovely scent of dried fruits.

The taste starts out with a soft tannin and alcohol, a very sweet taste of dried fruits. A good and long after taste of dried fruits, sweetness and it fades out with oak in the end.

Overall rating 92 / 100

I tasted this 20 years old tawny at Ramos Pinto in Porto, Portugal.

The colour is where brown and red meets for a beutiful composition.

The aroma is dominated by caramel.

A sharp tannin in the start goes right into a lovely dried fruits taste and with a after taste that not only last longer than the RP10 but is also a bit more complex.

I tasted this 10 year old tawny at Ramos Pinto in Porto, Portugal.

The colour is best described as chestnut, a deep brown with red notes to it.

The aroma is dominated by alcohol and caramel.

The taste comes off with a sharp tannin in the start, a faint note of oak and a soft dried fruit in the after taste, which fades quickly.

Zolotaya Bochka Razlivnoe

GS6A0213

The beer is brewed by a SABMiller brewery in Russia, further details was not possible to obtain.

I bought this beer at a local supermarket in Tartu, Estonia. 500 ml bottle with a strength of 5,5% for 1,19 Euro.

A yellow beer with a hint of darkness fills the glass and have a, for me first time to see, brownish yellow fill that we for now call a mysteriously inviting look.

The head structure is light, big and fine bubbles that will stay as a thin layer.

The aroma is a lovely light hint of grain. Taste is on the light going to weak side, but accompanied with the aroma it makes a much surprising experience out of itself.

I must say that this beer turned out much over my expectations, a good beer.

Goldstar

GS6A0791

Goldstar is brewed in Israel since 1950, it was originally produced at the Cabeer Brewery in Rishon LeZion.

My girlfriend bought this beer at a local supermarket in Israel, Jerusalem at the price of 2,3 Euro for a 500 ml can at 4,4%.

A stunning golden gold look to it, really lives up to its name.

The head disappears quickly.

The aroma got notes of caramel to it and the taste is dominated by its flat CO2, there is a little caramel to the taste but it is overridden by a bitterness in the finish, a finish with a touch of lager.

Coisbo – Queens desire – Weissbier

GS6A0809

Coisbo beer took its start in 2007 in Morud in Denmark. Brewer Anders Coisbo rents in on different breweries to make his beers.

Bought in a local wine shop at 6 Euro for a 500 ml bottle at 4,8%.

A beautiful yellow unfiltered beer fills the glass and have a inviting orange glowing look to it.

The head starts out big and the structure is very fine bubbles that stays with a thin layer.

A fantastic aroma that is fruitful and inviting.

Taste is a bit on the light side, sprinkling but the fruit fades too fast. The finish turns somewhat from the fruit to a little bitterness. A refreshing weissbier but I miss some more fruit to the taste and finish. The price is also too steep.

Ramos Pinto – Vintage 2000

GS6A1819GS6A1820Ruby port on the left, vintage 2000 on the right.

To learn more about Ramos Pinto, read my article from visiting the wine producer: http://www.disorder.dk/2013/09/26/visiting-ramos-pinto-in-porto/

The colour is no longer the deep red/purple going into black, the ageing have left it as a red wine with a brown hint to it when swirled.

The aroma comes off with a good fruit and a hint of oak.

Tasting it comes with a rough start from the tannin, with a soft switch to the fruit and a fresh grape. The taste is not as complex after only 11 years on the bottle. There are really no certain taste standing out for itself.

A good wine that needs to be aged for many more years to obtain a softer tannin and develop a more complex taste.
